Tabor Adds To Campaign Coffers $93K for Quarter

Tabor Campaign Demonstrates Broad Appeal

Kernersville, NC ñ Nathan Tabor, 2004 GOP candidate for the 5th congressional district in the House of Representatives, reported raising over $93,000 for the most recent campaign reporting period. ìTabor for Congress raised more money in the past 90 days (no personal loans) then we did in the first nine months. That is momentum!î said Tabor.

ìI am sure it is a surprise to some, particularly our opponents, but when you are the only candidate with a viable economic plan and family plan, people pay attention. The support we are receiving not only in donations but in volunteers is humbling. Our campaign is very blessed,î exclaimed Tabor. ìOur campaignís hard work is paying off.ì

Tabor has experienced a string of successes over the last several months including shoring up an endorsement from Jerry Falwell and getting one of the nationís top supply side economists, Stephen Moore, to endorse his TABOR Plan (Tax Payers Bill of Rights). Tabor also hosted former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese for a fundraiser in March on March 25th.

With so many candidates in the race for the 5th District, some have had difficulty raising the necessary funds to be competitive. Other candidates have had to rely on excessive amounts of personal funds. Tabor contends he has a good mix. ìWe jump started our campaign with personal funds and we wanted to demonstrate to potential supporters that we were viable. With a good message and a real plan for governing, people have begun to flock to our campaign,î said Tabor. ìOur fundraising is on target with what we want to accomplish.î

The Tabor camp added veteran fundraiser Catherine Hayes in February as the Finance Director. Hayes was previously with the National Republican Congressional Committee and also worked for former Congressional Majority Leader Dick Armey. Armey is now the co-chairman of Citizens for a Sound Economy and will be headlining an event for Tabor in May along with John Berthoud from National Taxpayers Union. (Armey and Berthoud are special guests of Tabor for Congress.)

ìI understand the issues for the 5th District. We need jobs, lower taxes and an inventiveness that will lead us into a new economy for our area. The message is clear. I will act upon it when elected,î Tabor continued.

Hayes added: ìPeople want to invest in a candidate that stands up for their values and is more than a talking head. We speak to people in their language. Our candidate ëgets itíî.
