Fifth District Republican Fundraiser Joins
Tabor for Congress Campaign

Mary Bagnal Comer Signs on as Co-Finance Chairwoman

Kernersville, NC – In yet another sign of the growing momentum behind the Tabor for Congress campaign, prominent 5th District Republican Mary Bagnal Comer has joined the campaign as Co-Finance Chairwoman. In this capacity she will use her extensive experience to coordinate fundraising for the campaign. Comer previously has helped coordinate fundraising activities for Richard Burr, Elizabeth Dole and most recently for Bush/Cheney ’04.

“ I am so pleased that Mary has decided to join our campaign,” said Nathan Tabor. “Her decision to sign on as Co-Finance Chairwoman will help us continue to raise the resources to win on Election Day. Mary told me about how when she was 5 years old she wore a campaign button that said ‘Vote for my Dad.’ Well, I am extremely honored to have her wearing a ‘Vote for Tabor’ campaign button now.”

Comer expressed excitement about joining the Tabor for Congress campaign. “I am looking forward to working with the campaign to get Nathan Tabor elected as our next Congressman,” said Comer. “We need a 5th District Congressman with fresh ideas, strong values, lots of energy, and common sense. Passing torches and angry legislators do not work in today’s complex world. I think Nathan’s approach, ideas, and conservative values are needed in Washington.”

In addition to raising money for Republicans, Comer also brings to the campaign a strong grassroots background working for North Carolina Republican officials. She was the Director of Constituent Services for Senator Lauch Faircloth for six years and was the Campaign Office Director for Richard Burr for two years.

Both of Comer’s parents served in the North Carolina State Senate, and her mother was the first woman to run for Congress in North Carolina. Comer has also served as President of the Forsyth County Republican Women. She is married to Mike Comer and has a three-year old son named William. They reside in Winston-Salem.
